Key Features
Pros
- Adds theft-tracking capability to the sharing platform
- Vendor-confirmed server-side lock/unlock path covers backend-driven rental workflows
- Retains Bluetooth plus API integration hooks
- Alarm and spoke-avoidance features carry over from the standard variant
- Lightweight 350 g format - minimal impact on bike weight
- Alarm + 3D motion sensors active even without an active GPS subscription
Cons
- -GPRS 900/1800 MHz uses European cellular bands - may not be compatible with North American carriers (US 2G has been largely shut down); confirm regional cellular coverage before deployment
- -GPS feature unavailable in Switzerland - I LOCK IT PRO line required for that market
- -Older C2-series platform: plastic housing, Bluetooth 4.0, GPRS instead of LTE (vs. PRO line metal / BT 5.1 / LTE)
- -Tire compatibility caps at 64 mm (PRO line supports 70 mm)
- -GPS / Cloud API subscription required to use tracking
- -Public page does not publish IP rating or detailed power specs

Specs taken from the official C2-04-S1 product page, I SHARE IT developer materials on 2026-04-23, and Haveltec email replies on 2026-05-11, 2026-05-12, and 2026-05-13. Haveltec confirmed all GPS Sharing models support true server-side remote lock/unlock through the I SHARE IT cloud, with BLE as backup. C2-04-S1 belongs to the older C2-series line (plastic housing, Bluetooth 4.0, GPRS instead of LTE, 64 mm tire max, ~350 g). GPRS 900/1800 MHz uses European cellular bands and is not compatible with North American networks (US 2G has been largely shut down). Operators in Switzerland should choose the I LOCK IT PRO Sharing GPS variants (DED/DEF) - GPS is not available on this variant in the Swiss market. I SHARE IT / haveltec (Karin Haberlandt) declined US market support on 2026-05-13: hardware does not hold FCC certification, current LTE modules are tuned to EU bands and do not provide reliable connectivity in the NY/NJ/PA, South Florida, or Southern California corridors, and shipping integrated large-capacity batteries to the US is not commercially viable for them at small to mid-sized volumes. Do not recommend for US deployments until the vendor confirms certification and US-band hardware. EU deployments remain viable.
About This Product
The C2-04-S1 product page adds GPS tracking in case of theft to the I LOCK IT sharing platform. It keeps the same open Bluetooth interface for bike-sharing use, the patented dynamic spoke-avoidance system, and the smart 110dB alarm.
Haveltec confirmed on 2026-05-11 that GPS Sharing models, including the C2 line, can receive true server-side lock and unlock commands through the I SHARE IT cloud. This remains a European-band GPRS product, so North American cellular fit still needs carrier confirmation; Haveltec also flagged US certification/import due diligence on 2026-05-12.
