How to Reboot or Reset a Scooter
A scooter reboot is performed by cycling through Transport Mode. This clears temporary error states and re-initializes all systems.
Steps
- Enter Transport Mode: Using the Segway Launcher app or BLE app, change the scooter's mode to Transport Mode
- Wait 5 minutes: Allow the scooter to remain in Transport Mode for at least 5 minutes
- Exit Transport Mode: Plug in the charger or use the app to exit Transport Mode
The scooter will restart all systems including the IoT module and controller.
When to Use a Reboot
- After a firmware update that seems incomplete
- When the scooter shows an unexpected error that clears with a power cycle
- When the IoT appears stuck and is not responding to commands
- As a first troubleshooting step for unexplained behavior
Note on the App
To enter Transport Mode via app, you need the Segway Launcher app or BLE app installed on your phone. The app is provided by Segway - contact your Segway support representative if you need the installation file.
