Weight and Rider Experience
Lighter vehicles are easier for riders to handle, especially for beginners and smaller riders. However, heavier vehicles often feel more stable at speed. Most fleet scooters range from 25-50 lbs, with e-bikes typically 40-70 lbs.
Transportation and Logistics
Vehicle weight affects shipping costs, staff handling during rebalancing, and storage requirements. A fleet of 50 scooters weighing 30 lbs each (1,500 lbs total) is significantly easier to manage than 50 lb scooters (2,500 lbs total).
Weight vs. Durability Trade-offs
Lighter vehicles often use thinner metals or plastics, potentially reducing durability. Fleet vehicles face more abuse than personal vehicles, so durability often outweighs weight savings. Look for aircraft-grade aluminum frames.
Max Load Capacity
Higher max load capacity often correlates with heavier vehicles but ensures safety for all rider sizes. Most fleet scooters support 220-265 lbs, while some heavy-duty models handle 300+ lbs.
