Quick Start Guide
Welcome to Levy Fleets! Your account, vehicles, and IoT devices have already been set up for you. This guide covers what you need to do before your fleet goes live.
Everything else — vehicle settings, auto-pause, auto-end, automatic refunds, reservation time, minimum battery — is already pre-configured with sensible defaults. You can fine-tune those later.
Just Received Your Scooters?
If your vehicles just arrived, they need to be charged and activated before anything else. OKAI scooters require a pin press to activate after their first charge — see OKAI IoT Initial Activation for step-by-step instructions. Once activated, come back here to finish your setup.
Step 1: Add Your Contact Information
Before anything else, make sure your contact details are set so you receive operational alerts (low battery, offline vehicles, etc.) and your customers have a way to reach support.
- Go to Settings in the sidebar
- Under Contact Information, enter:
- Business name — displayed to customers in the app
- Support phone number — customers see this if they need help during a ride
- Support email — for customer inquiries
- Alert phone number(s) — you'll get SMS alerts for critical fleet events
- Click Save
Alert Phone Numbers
Add phone numbers for anyone on your team who should receive real-time alerts about vehicle issues, low batteries, or offline devices. You can add multiple numbers.
Step 2: Set Up Your Zones
Zones define the rules of your operating area — where customers can ride, where they should park, and where they can't go. This is the most important part of your setup.
Navigate to Zones in the sidebar and click Add Zone.
Zone Types
| Zone Type | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Service Area | The overall boundary where your fleet operates. Riders are alerted if they leave this area. |
| Parking Zone | Designated spots where customers can end rides (e.g., near transit stops, commercial areas). |
| No-Parking Zone | Areas where rides cannot be ended (e.g., private property, fire lanes). |
| No-Go Zone | Completely restricted — the vehicle's throttle is disabled in these areas (e.g., highways, construction sites). |
| Speed Limit Zone | Vehicle automatically slows down here (e.g., pedestrian areas, school zones, narrow paths). |
How to Create a Zone
- Click Add Zone
- Use the map drawing tools to outline the boundary — click to place points and close the polygon
- Name the zone (e.g., "Downtown Service Area", "Main St Parking")
- Select the zone type
- For speed zones, set the speed limit
- Click Save — the zone is active immediately
Recommended Setup
At minimum, you should create:
- One Service Area covering your entire operating region
- Parking Zones at key locations where you want customers to return vehicles
- No-Go Zones for any dangerous or restricted areas nearby (highways, private property)
- Speed Limit Zones for any pedestrian-heavy areas
Zone Enforcement
Zones are enforced in real-time. When a rider enters a speed limit zone, the vehicle automatically reduces speed. No-go zones disable the throttle entirely.
Step 3: Create Vehicle Models
Vehicle models let you categorize your fleet (e.g., different scooter types, e-bikes) and assign pricing to each.
- Go to Vehicle Models in the sidebar
- Click Add Model
- Enter:
- Model Name (e.g., "Segway Max", "Ninebot F2 Plus")
- Vehicle Type (scooter, bike, moped, etc.)
- Icon — an emoji for quick identification on the dashboard
- Click Save
Your vehicles have already been imported and assigned to your account. Once you create models, you can assign vehicles to them from the Vehicles page.
Step 4: Configure Pricing
Navigate to Pricing in the sidebar to set up what customers pay.
Pricing Components

| Per-Minute Rate | Ongoing charge during the ride | $0.39/min |
| Pause Rate | Rate while a ride is paused (optional) | $0.15/min |
| Per-Distance Rate | Additional charge based on distance (optional) | $0.25/km |
| Minimum Price | Minimum charge for any ride | $2.00 |
| Maximum Price | Daily cap on ride charges | $50.00 |
Setting Up Pricing
- Go to Pricing
- Select the vehicle model you want to price
- Set your unlock fee, per-minute rate, and any other components
- Optionally add pricing tiers for longer rides (e.g., lower rates after 30 minutes)
- Click Save
Pricing by Model
You can set different pricing for each vehicle model — useful if you have premium vehicles alongside standard ones.
Step 5: Go Live
With zones, models, and pricing configured, you're ready to launch. The key is understanding vehicle statuses — these control whether a vehicle is visible and rentable in the customer app.
Vehicle Statuses

Making Vehicles Available
- Go to Vehicles
- Select the vehicles you want to make available
- Change their status from Offline or Transportation to Available
- They'll immediately appear in the customer app
That's it — your fleet is live!

Your fleet comes pre-configured with defaults for all of these, but you can adjust them in Settings:
- Auto-Pause — automatically pauses rides when a vehicle is stationary
- Auto-End — ends rides after extended inactivity
- Automatic Refunds — refunds very short rides (under 3 minutes / 200 meters)
- Reservation Time — how long a customer can reserve before the hold expires
- Minimum Battery — the battery threshold below which vehicles aren't available
