ZIMO + Levy Fleets
ZIMO uses MQTT v3.1 for scooter communication—unlike traditional TCP protocols. JSON commands are published to IMEI-based topics with built-in QoS, delivering efficient and reliable fleet control at scale.
Pub/sub JSON commands over MQTT—modern, efficient, low overhead. Each device subscribes to its IMEI-based topic. Commands arrive instantly with configurable QoS levels for guaranteed delivery.
Start and stop trips with rider ID binding. The device knows who is riding and enforces per-rider rules automatically.
Configurable per-fleet speed caps pushed via MQTT. Enforce different limits for different zones or rider tiers.
Real-time zone detection and enforcement. Slow-down zones, no-ride zones, and parking-only areas processed on-device.
Physical lock relay for anti-theft. The line lock engages a mechanical cable to secure the rear wheel when the scooter is parked.
Battery level, speed, GPS coordinates, signal strength, and error codes streamed via periodic MQTT reports. Full fleet visibility without polling—devices push data on their own schedule.
Why ZIMO
ZIMO chose MQTT over TCP for a reason—it is purpose-built for IoT communication. Our integration brings full protocol support with JSON command transparency and built-in message reliability.
Lower overhead than TCP, built-in QoS levels, and native support for unreliable mobile networks. Designed for IoT from the ground up.
Human-readable command payloads make debugging straightforward. No binary protocol parsing, no hex decoding, no guesswork.
Efficient for large fleets—one broker handles thousands of devices. Add scooters without scaling connection pools.
Designed around the ride lifecycle, not just lock/unlock. Trip start, trip end, rider binding, and fare events are first-class protocol concepts.
How It Works
Add ZIMO scooters to Levy Fleets. Each device connects to our MQTT broker using its IMEI as the client ID. Topic subscriptions are provisioned automatically.
Set speed limits, geofence zones, trip pricing, and telemetry intervals from the dashboard. Configuration changes are published as JSON and applied instantly.
Riders find scooters on the map and tap to start a trip. The platform publishes a trip-start command, the scooter unlocks, and telemetry begins streaming.
