Acton + Levy Fleets
Acton's modified SCOR protocol strips away complexity and focuses on what shared fleets actually need—secure lock/unlock, location, telemetry, and a mandatory heartbeat acknowledgment that prevents rogue server attacks.
R0 handshake with a mandatory heartbeat ACK requirement. The device ignores ALL commands until the server acknowledges its heartbeat—ensuring only authorized servers can control the scooter.
On-demand D0 position requests return latitude, longitude, speed, and heading. Track every scooter in your fleet in real time.
S6 telemetry reports battery level, lock state, current speed, and operational status. Full visibility without polling.
S5 settings control reporting intervals. Balance between real-time tracking and battery conservation for your specific fleet needs.
Fewer commands than standard SCOR, focused on reliability over feature count. Less complexity means fewer failure modes in production.
The device requires the server to acknowledge every heartbeat before accepting ANY commands. This prevents rogue server attacks—if a bad actor intercepts the connection, the device stays locked until the real server responds.
Why Acton
Acton took the proven SCOR protocol and stripped it down to what shared fleets actually need. The result is a streamlined, secure communication layer that just works.
Focused command set means less complexity and fewer failure modes. Every command in the protocol serves a clear operational purpose.
Heartbeat acknowledgment requirement adds a security layer that most SCOR implementations lack. No ACK, no commands accepted.
Founded in San Jose, California in 2013. US headquarters with global manufacturing through Feishen partnership.
Built on the widely-deployed Omni protocol foundation. Compatible tooling, familiar patterns, with targeted improvements.
How It Works
Add Acton scooters to the Levy Fleets dashboard by IMEI. The platform connects to the device over TCP and begins the R0 handshake automatically.
The device sends its first heartbeat. Our server ACKs it immediately, unlocking command acceptance. Telemetry begins flowing and the scooter appears on your dashboard.
Riders find scooters on the map and tap to unlock. The simplified protocol handles lock/unlock in under a second. Lock it when done. Simple and reliable.
