OKAI IoT Status Lights

Use this reference when checking the physical LEDs on an OKAI ZK Series IoT module during setup or troubleshooting.

Most common field check

A slow white breathing light means the IoT is in normal operating mode. Fast red/white alternating flashing means the IoT is in TEST mode for configuration.

Normal Mode vs Test Mode

Normal operating mode is the expected state for deployed vehicles. The white LED should breathe slowly and the red LED should remain off.

TEST mode is used when connecting the IoT to a Windows PC with ZK Tool or Modify Mode. In TEST mode, the red and white LEDs flash alternately. Vehicles should not be left in TEST mode after configuration.

Do Not Confuse IoT LEDs with Stem Lights

This article covers the physical red/white LEDs on the OKAI IoT module. Some OKAI models, including ES600 scooters, also have configurable stem/status lighting controlled by AT+GTLED.

If a tech reports "fast white flashing," confirm whether the red LED is also flashing alternately:

Return an OKAI IoT to Normal Mode

After server configuration or debugging is complete:

  1. Connect through ZK Tool.
  2. Press Ctrl + L.
  3. Send the normal-mode command:

When to Escalate

Escalate to support if:

  • The LEDs indicate an ECU fault after the ECU wiring and battery are checked.
  • The LEDs indicate an IoT fault after a vehicle power cycle.
  • The module stays in TEST mode and does not accept the normal-mode command.
  • The lights show normal mode but the device remains offline for more than 5 minutes in a good-signal area.
