ESP32 Module Installation SOP (S1)
This SOP covers the installation of the ESP32 module in the Segway S1 ServeBot. The ESP32 handles wireless communication and certain sensor interfaces in the robot.
Prerequisites
- Power off the S1 and disconnect from any charging source
- Have the required repair tools ready
- Obtain the correct ESP32 module for the S1 from Segway support

General Steps
- Power off the S1 completely
- Open the relevant panel using the appropriate tools (refer to the SOP image for the specific fasteners)
- Locate the ESP32 module socket/mounting location
- Remove the old ESP32 module if replacing (gently disconnect any ribbon cables or pin connectors)
- Install the new ESP32 module, ensuring all connectors are properly seated
- Reassemble the panel
- Power on the S1 and verify the module is recognized and functioning
After Installation
After installing the ESP32 module:
- Verify the S1 successfully connects to Wi-Fi or other wireless networks
- Confirm sensor data is being reported correctly
- Check for any error codes on the S1's display
If issues persist after installation, contact Segway Robotics support with the S1 serial number and a description of the problem.
