Firmware Update for Moped
The MT (Moped Tools) application is used to connect the Moped's IoT module to a laptop for firmware updates. A video tutorial showing the complete upload process is available.
Overview
The moped firmware update process uses the MT tools application on a Windows laptop connected to the moped's IoT via a cable.
Prerequisites
- Windows laptop
- MT tools application (contact Segway to obtain)
- USB cable for connecting to moped IoT
- Correct firmware file for your moped model (contact Segway support)
General Process
- Connect the USB cable from the laptop to the moped's IoT module diagnostic port
- Open the MT tools application on your laptop
- The application will detect the connected IoT module
- Load the firmware file into the MT tools application
- Click Upload or Flash to begin the firmware update
- Wait for the process to complete (do not disconnect the cable)
- The moped IoT will restart with the new firmware
After Update
- Verify the new firmware version in the moped's dashboard or via the MT tools app
- Check that the moped comes online in the Segway Dashboard
- Test all moped functions before returning to service
