Segway Launcher - Bluetooth Features
This video tutorial covers the Bluetooth features in the Segway Launcher mobile app, which allow you to communicate directly with a scooter over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) without needing an active IoT connection.
What You'll Learn
- How to connect to a scooter via Bluetooth
- Operations available over Bluetooth (lock/unlock, transport mode, firmware update)
- When to use Bluetooth vs. remote IoT commands
- Troubleshooting Bluetooth connection issues
When to Use Bluetooth
Bluetooth is useful when:
- A scooter is offline (no IoT connection)
- You need to put a scooter into or out of Transport Mode
- Performing local diagnostics on a scooter
- The scooter is nearby and you want faster response than network commands
Note: Make sure your phone's Location services and Bluetooth are both enabled, and that the Launcher app has permissions for both.
Running a fleet on this hardware?
Levy Fleets runs scooters, e-bikes, mopeds and golf carts on the IoT hardware you already have, with integration pages for 29 vendors including Segway, Okai, Omni, Queclink, Invers and Comodule. Keyless unlock, geofencing, rider payments and rider support are included, and the Managed plan is a share of revenue with no per-vehicle software fee.
