How to Solve Error 50

Error 50 is a BMS (Battery Management System) fault code that indicates an internal battery issue. Resolving it requires reading battery diagnostic data and applying a corrective command provided by Segway support.

This is an advanced procedure that requires the IAP tool and coordination with Segway support.

What You'll Need

  • Windows laptop
  • IAP diagnostic tool: BMS_Info_20210128 (contact Segway to obtain)
  • IAP command tool: QCOM_V1.6 (contact Segway to obtain)
  • USB to 5-pin cable (see IAP Firmware Update guide)

Steps

Step 1 - Read battery information:

Connect the USB cable to the scooter. Open the BMS_Info_20210128 IAP tool. Read and save the battery diagnostic data. Send this data to Segway support.

Step 2 - Receive command from Segway:

Segway support will analyze the battery data and provide you with a corrective command to send to the battery.

Step 3 - Send corrective command:

Open the QCOM_V1.6 IAP tool. Connect to the battery and send the command provided by Segway support.

Step 4 - Verify:

After sending the command, check if Error 50 is cleared. Power on the scooter and verify normal operation.

If Error 50 Persists

If the error does not clear after the procedure, the BMS may need to be replaced. Contact Segway support for a warranty or replacement assessment.
