How to replace Brake Assembly?Tool preparation Torque screwdriver, PH1, T10, T25, T30, H2, H5, scissors, new brake assembly, cable tie, new brake assembly Remove the stem assembly Remove 1 M510 strew on the front side of the front tube with T25. Remove 2 M616 strews on the back side of the front tube with T30. Pull out the stem, disconnect the main connection cables. Take off the cover of the brake box. take out wires from the cable box, and then pass wires through the open slot of front tube. Take out the end of brake wires from the brake cable box, then take off the stem. Remove the dashboard Remove 3 screws M310 with T10 and take off the dashboard cover. Remove 3 screws M25 on the dash board. Cut the cable tie to remove the cable retaining. Disconnect the cables to electric throttle, the electric brake and the light from the dashboard. Then take out the dashboard. Remove the handlebar locking block Remove 2 rubber plugs, remove 4 screws M520 with T25 and remove the block. take out the front brake line, the brake detection line and the electric throttle line from the stem. Then remove the stem and remove the sealing plug. Remove Brake Assembly Loose the screw of the handle with H2 bit, hold the brake handle tightly and take out the brake thread head with pointed nose pliers. Remove the 2 screws on the brake assembly with H5. Take out the front part of the brake line from the original place, pull out the harness from the handlebar, then take off the brake handle assembly, then take off the front part of the brake line Install Brake Assembly Guide the front part of the brake line through the handlebar, guide the front of the brake line through the brake handle slot, and fasten the self-contained screws on the handle with the H2, so that the brake line is not dislocated or exposed. Install the brake handle assembly in place, and fasten the two screws with H5, Torque: 5-7N·m. The brake harness passes through the handlebar, then put the end of brake line into the slot. Install the handlebar locking block Install the waterproof plug, and clip the throttle, brake line and harness though the waterproof plug. Insert the front section of the brake line, the electric throttle and the harness from the stem, install the lock block, and fasten 4 screws M5 * 20 with T25, Torque: 8-12 N·m. Pass the front section of the brake line through the hole of the stem Install the dashboard Pass the dashboard cable from the left side hole of the stem, Connect the throttle, the electric brake and the headlight harness to the dashboard. Install the cable retaining and the cable tie to protect the cable. Fasten 3 screws M25 with PH1, Torque: 0.24±0.02N·m. Install dashboard cover and fasten 3 hexagonal countersunk screws M310 with T10, Torque: 0.2-0.3N·m. Install the rubber plug into the stem. Install the stem Insert the brake wire through the open slot on the front tube, insert the block at the end of the brake into the connecting block of the brake box, The brake wire plastic is installed in the groove of the brake wire box, put back the plate cover to the brake box. Connect the controller cable and insert the stem into the front tube. Fasten 2 M616 screws with T30, Torque: 9-12N·m, Fasten 1 M5*10 screw with T25, Torque: 5-6N·m Function detection Power on the scooter, and confirm that it functions properly. Adjusting the brake Tighten the brake handle for 3 times to confirm the function. Use the wrench #8 to loose the lock nut, and then can adjust the brake by rotating the adjusting nut.
Function detection: 1. Power on the scooter, and lock the brake handle by jig, With 33mm jig, pushing horizontally the scooter, and
- the scooter can move, and the front wheel rolls at least 1 turn or more
- rear lamp flashes With 30mm jig, fixing the handlebar, push horizontally the scooter, and
- the scooter is not able to move forward
- the rear wheel is lifted
After the adjustment, use the wrench #8 to tight the lock nut, T 5.5±0.5 N·m
