Ride Management

The Rides page provides comprehensive visibility into all ride activity across your fleet. Monitor active rides in real-time, review completed trips, investigate issues, and track key performance metrics.

Navigation

Access the Rides page from the sidebar by clicking Rides.

Dashboard Overview

Summary Cards

At the top of the Rides page, summary cards show key metrics:

Total RidesAll rides in the selected period
Active RidesCurrently ongoing rides
Completed RidesSuccessfully finished rides
Total RevenueRevenue from all rides

Click Active Rides to filter the list to show only ongoing rides.

View Modes

  • List View - Detailed table with full ride information
  • Card View - Compact cards for mobile viewing

Understanding Ride Status

Status Types

Auto-Pause States

Rides can be automatically paused for various reasons:

Throttle DisabledVehicle throttle disabled (e.g., in no-go zone)
LockedVehicle was locked during ride
Low BatteryBattery dropped below threshold
Connection LostIoT device lost connection

Auto-Pause Billing

While paused, rides continue to accrue time charges unless your pricing is configured otherwise.

Viewing Ride Details

Ride Information

Click on any ride to view its full details:

Basic Information:

  • Ride number (unique identifier)
  • Customer name and contact
  • Vehicle number and model
  • Start and end times
  • Duration and distance

Financial Details:

  • Unlock fee
  • Per-minute charges
  • Total fare
  • Payment method
  • Promo codes applied

Route Information:

  • Start location
  • End location (for completed rides)
  • Route map with GPS trail
  • Speed data

Real-Time Data (Active Rides)

For active rides, the detail view shows:

  • Live duration counter
  • Current location on map
  • Live speed reading
  • Battery level
  • Connection status

Filtering and Searching

Quick Filters

Search for rides by:

  • Ride number
  • Customer name
  • Customer email
  • Vehicle number

Advanced Filters

  • Date range - Filter by start date
  • Status - Specific ride status
  • Vehicle - Rides for a specific vehicle
  • Customer - Rides by a specific customer

Context Filtering

Navigate to Rides from:

  • Vehicle details - Shows rides for that vehicle
  • Customer details - Shows rides by that customer

The filter is automatically applied and shown in the header.

Ride Lifecycle

Starting a Ride

Rides begin when a customer:

  1. Scans the vehicle QR code
  2. Unlocks via the app (if vehicle is nearby)
  3. Vehicle unlocks successfully
  4. Timer starts

The system records:

  • Start timestamp
  • Start location (GPS)
  • Customer ID
  • Vehicle ID
  • Unlock fee

During the Ride

While a ride is active:

  • GPS locations are recorded periodically
  • Speed is monitored for zone enforcement
  • Battery level is tracked
  • Time charges accrue

Ending a Ride

Rides end when:

  1. Customer taps "End Ride" in the app
  2. Vehicle is locked
  3. Final location is recorded
  4. Fare is calculated and charged

Automatic Ending

Rides may end automatically if:

  • Maximum ride duration is reached
  • Vehicle battery is depleted
  • Customer payment fails
  • Operator force-ends the ride

Managing Active Rides

Monitoring Active Rides

  1. Click Active Rides summary card
  2. View all ongoing rides
  3. Click individual rides for details
  4. Monitor for unusual activity

Force-Ending a Ride

In exceptional circumstances, operators can end rides:

  1. Click on the active ride
  2. Click End Ride (admin action)
  3. Confirm the action
  4. Provide a reason (for records)

Force-End Billing

Force-ended rides are still billed up to the end point. The customer receives a notification explaining the ride was ended by the operator.

Handling Paused Rides

For paused rides:

  1. Review the pause reason
  2. Check vehicle status
  3. Contact customer if needed
  4. Vehicle will resume when issue resolves

Ride Analytics

Per-Ride Metrics

Each ride shows:

  • Duration - Total time (minutes)
  • Distance - Total distance (km)
  • Average Speed - km/h
  • Revenue - Total charges

Aggregated Metrics

View trends in:

  • Rides per day/week/month
  • Revenue over time
  • Average ride duration
  • Popular start/end locations

Route Visualization

Ride Map

Completed rides show:

  • Start point (green marker)
  • End point (red marker)
  • Route path (blue line)
  • Waypoints along the route

GPS Trail

The GPS trail shows:

  • All recorded locations
  • Color-coded by speed
  • Timestamps at intervals
  • Pause points highlighted

Customer Complaints

When a customer reports an issue:

  1. Find the ride by number or customer
  2. Review the ride details and timeline
  3. Check GPS data for anomalies
  4. Issue refund if warranted
  5. Document the resolution

Refund Processing

To process a refund:

  1. Open the ride details
  2. Note the charge amount
  3. Navigate to customer wallet
  4. Issue credit or refund
  5. Document the reason

Best Practices

Active Ride Monitoring

  • Check active rides dashboard regularly
  • Investigate rides over 2 hours
  • Monitor for rides in restricted zones
  • Watch for unusual patterns

Issue Prevention

  • Ensure vehicles are properly maintained
  • Keep IoT devices charged and connected
  • Set appropriate ride time limits
  • Configure zones correctly

Record Keeping

  • Don't delete ride records
  • Document all manual interventions
  • Keep refund records
  • Track issue patterns

Exporting Ride Data

CSV Export

Export ride data for analysis:

  1. Apply desired filters
  2. Click Export
  3. Select date range
  4. Download CSV file
