How to Reconnect the IoT Battery Wire
If the IoT module's power wire becomes disconnected - either from vibration, impact, or during maintenance - the scooter will go offline because the IoT loses power. This guide explains how to reconnect it.
When to Use This Guide
- The scooter suddenly went offline with no other apparent cause
- You hear the IoT briefly powering on then off (clicking sound)
- You recently performed maintenance and the IoT stopped working
General Procedure
The IoT battery wire is a small connector that provides power from the scooter's electrical system to the IoT module.
- Power off the scooter - put it in Transport Mode using the Launcher app, or disconnect the main battery
- Access the IoT module - on most models, the IoT is located under the dashboard panel. Refer to the SOP for your specific model for disassembly steps
- Locate the power connector - the IoT has a small 2-pin or 4-pin power connector separate from the data connector
- Reconnect firmly - press the connector in until it clicks
- Reassemble and test - put the scooter back into normal mode and check if it comes online in the Dashboard
Model-Specific Notes
- ES4: IoT is in the external mounting bracket near the stem
- MAX / MAX PRO: IoT is inside the dashboard housing — remove the top screws to access
- MAX PLUS: IoT is inside the dashboard — see Firmware Update via Cable - MAX PLUS for access steps
If the connector is damaged or the wire is broken, the IoT module may need to be replaced.
