Vehicle Models

Vehicle models define the specifications and characteristics of the different types of vehicles in your fleet. Properly configured models help customers understand what they're renting and help operators track fleet composition.

Navigation

Access Vehicle Models from Dashboard > Vehicle Models in the sidebar.

Overview

Vehicle models provide:

  • Visual identification - Icons and names for customer-facing apps
  • Specifications - Speed, range, and battery information
  • Categorization - Organize your fleet by vehicle type
  • Reporting - Track performance by model

  • On the map when selecting a vehicle
  • In ride history

  • In receipts and invoices

Editing Models

To modify an existing model:

  1. Navigate to Vehicle Models
  2. Click on the model you want to edit
  3. Update the desired fields
  4. Click Save

Impact of Changes

Changing a model's specifications (like max speed) affects display only. Actual vehicle behavior is controlled by the IoT device and ECU settings.

Deleting Models

To remove a model:

  1. Navigate to Vehicle Models
  2. Click on the model
  3. Click Delete
  4. Confirm the deletion

Model with Vehicles

You cannot delete a model that has vehicles assigned to it. Reassign or delete those vehicles first.

Assigning Models to Vehicles

During Vehicle Creation

When adding a new vehicle:

  1. Select the model from the Vehicle Model dropdown
  2. The model's specifications will be associated with the vehicle

Via Import

Include the vehicle_model_name column in your CSV:

vehicle_number;vehicle_model_name;status
LV-001;Ninebot Max G30;available
LV-002;OKAI ES200;available

Bulk Reassignment

To change the model for multiple vehicles:

  1. Export your vehicles to CSV
  2. Update the model name column
  3. Re-import the CSV

Pricing Integration

Vehicle models are the foundation for your pricing structure. Each model can have its own pricing configuration.

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > Pricing
  2. Select a vehicle model
  3. Configure pricing for that model
  4. The pricing applies to all vehicles of that model

Best Practices

Naming Conventions

  • Use official manufacturer model names
  • Include variant identifiers if applicable (e.g., "G30P" vs "G30")
  • Be consistent across your fleet

Specifications Accuracy

  • Enter accurate specifications for customer transparency
  • Update specs if firmware changes affect performance
  • Document any modifications from stock
